Ayşe Kulin Meets Readers in London to Present and Sign Her Latest Novel

LONDON — Prominent  Turkish novelist Ayşe Kulin met with readers in London at a literary event hosted by the British Turkish Women’s Association (BTKD), where she discussed her latest novel “Aylardan Kasım, Günlerden Perşembe” and signed copies of her books.

The event, held at the TROY Hotel in London’s West End, marked BTKD’s first gathering of the year and drew a strong turnout from association members and invited guests. The program was hosted by BTKD Chair Maviş Fuchs and board members Burcu Köstem, Itır Sökmen, and Funda Özensoy.

Distinguished attendees included TRNC Representative in London Ambassador Aysan Mullahasan Atılgan, Turkish Consul Oğuzhan Gönültaş, Vice Consul Vildan Aksoy Okudan, TRNC Vice Consul Esma Eroğlu, Çanakkale Commemoration Platform Chair Servet Hassan, and UK Women’s Platform

In her opening address, Fuchs expressed pleasure in welcoming Kulin, whose works have been translated into 27 languages and widely adapted. She also underlined the author’s philanthropic contributions, noting that proceeds from the event will support BTKD educational initiatives.

During the discussion, Kulin spoke about the emotional process of writing her new novel, which is narrated in the voice of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. She emphasized Atatürk’s compassion, his commitment to education, and his affection for children and peace.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by a book signing.

Fuchs also thanked TROY Hotel owner Vildan Durmaz, Ishtar Restaurant owner Engin Servi, and Hafız Mustafa representative Mehmet Taisi Güzel for their support.
