Background: Ongoing Conflict Between Israel and Iran
On June 13, Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities and senior military leadership. The attacks killed Iran’s Chief of General Staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, several senior officers, and nine nuclear scientists.
According to Iran’s Ministry of Health, the death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 224 civilians, with more than 1,277 injured.
In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missile strikes against Israel, reportedly killing 25 people and injuring over 500.
Turkey and several other countries have strongly condemned Israel’s actions.
